The grunge effect is definitely is wallpaper, there's several ways to achieve this method; this looks like they traced a design and cut is with a blade or scissors. Another way is just simply tearing it.

Well, I like it.

The different shades of blue on the walls and the carpet beautifully complement one another and add visual interest without adding clutter.

The column-like drape of the curtains emphasizes the ancient Greece/Minoan vibe of the "faded" wall treatment and carpet, as do the two (stone? cement? resin?) pillar-like sidetables at the foot of the bed. (I do wonder about stubbed toes there.)

The cover on the bed also hints at ancient textile weaving.

All the other, modern furnishing and accessories give a comfortable, eclectic, human touch. Add that kick-ass view (polite enough to color-coordinate itself for the shoot - or, great color correction in post) and I would very much like to stay the night. Or the weekend.
